What fun we had on this e-session in downtown Evansville! Annabelle and Tom were a blast to work with… In fact, Tom may win the award for “most animated fiancé”. Of course, as the author of BourbonBlog.com, he’s used to being in front of the camera. Not even the wind (Annabelle was nearly blown away!) or the lack of a corkscrew to open the champagne could put a damper on this awesome couple’s fun mood!

Happy New Year! 2011 was an awesome (and busy) year at CBP. I’d like to thank all of our clients for making that possible. To kick off 2012, I am pleased to introduce you to our new website. My goal for this much-needed update is to create a way to connect with our clients (current and future) in a way that we have not before. This means offering more information to you, keeping you updated on important topics and giving you more ways to share your photographic memories.

As a company, our most important asset is our clients. I feel fortunate to have the very best customer base out there. Our clients not only trust us to capture the most important memories of their lives, but they recommend us to their families and friends. With this website, I hope to build upon this privileged position while continuing to offer the best photographic experience to our clients.

For photographers: snow photography tip

It’s been a wild winter – weather-wise – with lots of opportunities to catch some cool snow photos. For you shooters out there, don’t forget that your camera’s built-in meter “thinks” that most scenes should have a mix of light and dark tones. On a basic level, it tries to make everything 18% gray (middle gray). So when it “sees” a snow scene, it says “wow, that’s a really bright gray! I better make it darker…”, and what you get is an underexposed photo. To fix this common problem, just use the exposure compensation control on your camera and give it about 1 to 1.5 stops additional exposure. Voilá! White snow.
